Still stretching the definitions of “Monday” and “reading” with a dumb email about seltzer on a Friday

Monday Reading is my weekly recommendation of something I’ve found thought-provoking or fascinating. Sometimes it is about something I have read. Sometimes it is about television or food or music or projects I care about supporting. Sometimes I do not send it on Monday. Please share with anyone who might like the vibes!!

I am so sorry. Today I have to recommend this vending machine that you cannot use unless you are in my therapist’s building in Chicago. I understand that this is lowkey deranged! I get it! But it has been such a source of consistent joy for me since they (they who? I don’t know, whoever owns the vending machine) started stocking it with Polar Seltzer that I had to tell you about it.

YES, Polar Seltzer, the best seltzer! But the great thing is that they have stocked it with a RANDOM ASSORTMENT OF FLAVORS. It’s seltzer roulette. The machine shows a can of black cherry, but as you can CLEARLY see, it dispenses a random flavor! I have never gotten black cherry. I have gotten lemon, which is fine, as well as orange vanilla, which is (imo) the best flavor. In fact I had started to think that it was stocked with lemon & orange vanilla and nothing else, because I had gotten each of those a couple of times. TODAY, however, I got ginger-lime mule!!!

I don’t know! Getting a surprise seltzer flavor every time I go to therapy has become crucial to my happiness. If you’re in Chicago, you can meet me before therapy for a seltzer. Or after, I guess. After could work, too.
